Demonstration - Creative Collaborations: Heidi Kreitchet & Augusta Smith

  • Heidi and Gus will work together to create unique pieces of pottery. The audience will be able to watch the artists throw, trim, and decorate the piece, and learn about the collaborative process in pottery. This demonstration is a great opportunity to see two talented artists work together and to appreciate the beauty of their finished product.

CLAY FOR KIDS

Rovang Ceramics Clay for Kids is an opportunity for kids hands dirty doing something different while they learn about clay. Kids can squish and bash clay, roll it, flatten it, decorate it, and join it to make something new and exciting. Alex Rovang and Rovang Ceramics will be offering additional classes in his studio in Sedona, Arizona. Learn more by clicking the Rovang Ceramics Studio Page

Demonstration - Clay Canvas: Heather Spontak & Rena Hamilton

  • Heather and Rena will showcase their process for decorating clay pieces. The audience will be able to watch the artists use a variety of techniques, such as terra sigillata, painting, and carving, to create unique and beautiful works of art. This demonstration is a great opportunity to learn about different pottery decoration techniques and to see how two talented artists approach the creative process.


1:30 PM - 2:30 PM

CLAY FOR KIDS

Rovang Ceramics Clay for Kids is an opportunity for kids hands dirty doing something different while they learn about clay. Demonstration - Sculptural Ceramics: Jeff Heeg & Magda Gluszek

Magda and Jeff will showcase their unique approaches to sculptural ceramics. Jeff will be creating thrown and altered sculptural forms on and off the wheel, while Magda will be creating a representational sculpture. Despite their different styles, both artists will be using the medium of clay to create beautiful and expressive works of art.

This demonstration is a great opportunity to learn about different techniques for creating sculptural ceramics. It is also a chance to see two talented artists work with clay in new and innovative ways.


4:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Demonstration - Wheel Wizards: Dexter Woods & Ben Roti

Dexter and Ben will showcase their skills on the pottery wheel. The audience will be able to watch each throw a variety of forms, from simple bowls to complex sculptures. The artists will also share their tips and techniques for creating beautiful and functional pottery on the wheel.

This demonstration is a great opportunity to learn from two of the best in the business. It is also a chance to see the pottery wheel in action and to appreciate the skill and artistry that goes into throwing pottery.

Demonstration - Molding Mayhem: Kait Arnt & Jason Hess

Kait and Jason will showcase their process for using slipcasting and plaster molds to create pottery. The audience will be able to watch Kait prepare slip, and cast pottery pieces using plaster molds. Jason will demonstrate other useful techniques for using molds in the pottery process. This demonstration is a great opportunity to learn about slipcasting and plaster mold techniques, and to see how two talented artists use molds to create unique and beautiful pottery.

Mike and Gus will showcase their process for creating beautiful and functional dinnerware. The audience will be able to watch the artists throw, trim, and decorate a variety of dinnerware pieces, such as plates, bowls, and cups. The artists will also share their tips and techniques for creating durable and food-safe pottery.

This demonstration is a great opportunity to learn about the process of making dinnerware pottery. It is also a chance to see two talented artists work together to create a set of dinnerware that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing.

Demonstration - Forming Functional Vases: Jason Bohnert & Tiffany Bailey

Jason and Tiffany will showcase their process for creating functional vases using both wheel-throwing and hand-building techniques. The audience will be able to watch the artists throw the bodies of the vases on the wheel, and then use hand-building techniques to create the necks, handles, and other decorative elements. The artists will also share their tips and techniques for creating vases that are both beautiful and durable.

This demonstration is a great opportunity to learn about the different techniques that can be used to create functional vases. It is also a chance to see two talented artists work together to create a variety of unique and beautiful vases.
